A Good Book.
What a joy it is to read a good book.
It takes you places you`ve never been before
makes you familiar to cultures you don`t know
and it makes you care about other people and places.
I started reading this amazing book on my way back from
Toronto
and it was the reason i didn`t loose my temper while riding
the notoriously delayed Amtrak.
My wife had insist on me reading it and trusting her
knowledge on my taste in literature i was impatiently waitng
till i had finished the one i was already reading.
The book i was reading it`s another amazing book
of short stories:"Tales of the Unexpected"
by Roald Dahl.
The one that got me hooked for the next days it`s a haunting
novel titled:"The Kite Runner"
by Khaled Hosseini.
It takes place in Afghanistan
from when it was a Monarchy
through the Russian occupation
to the brutal rulling of the Taliban
and the American invasion of 2001.
And it all happened in the last forty years!
After finishing reading it i felt connected to the Afghanistan people
and their non ending suffering.
A trully remarkable book!
