Jon Paris.
I met Jon Paris two years ago at Lucilles on a Monday night.
He was hosting the Monday Jams at BBKings and i remember me,
going there with my Strat on my shoulders, introducing myself
and waiting for to be invited up on the stage.
I remember plugging in on a Line 6 amp which was placed in front
of the left corner of the stage and playing two songs with him.
The fisrt one he sung and played guitar and on the second one
he let me do my thing while he was wailing on the harp.
I gave him a copy of the Greek CD "Sorceress of Arabia"
which he really liked as he told me when we met again.
Last night i `ve got me the urge to go and see him again
so i left my air-conditined loft, I crossed
Broadway and 7th ave.
and there i was at 42nd st. Bet/7th and 8th av. in front of BBKing`s.
He immediately recognized me and said Hi from the stage,
and i didn`t even have the time to finish drinking my
Sam Adams
before he invited me to the stage, this time handing over His
Strat to me.
We did a number from his latest CD "Blue Planet"
track #4 titled "Overhauled Cadillac" in which he played
some amazing Harp, and after that we did a
Bo Didley tune
that has been succesfully covered by Eric Clapton titled
"Before you accuse me".
Later on i told him that i first saw his face on the cover
of a very good Johnny Winter album
from 1980 titled "Raisin` Cain" where he plays the Bass,Harmonica
and wrote some tunes.
That was while i was living in Stockholm where i also
saw him performing live with Johnny as a Trio In
"Grona Lund"
Jon is not only an amazing musician, he is an overall very polite and nice guy,
that i am privileged to know and iam looking forward to the next time
we`ll meet again and play music together.
