Myrtle Beach.

Saturday night we returned home from our visit to
Myrtle Beach.

Five days spent with my parents in law,at their house overlooking
the Atlantic Ocean.

It was my second visit there and we enjoy our long walks
on the beach and the much warmer weather than New York,
or Michigan, where they live.

We flew with Spirit
from a somewhat busy La Guardia last Monday
night and came back from an empty Myrtle Beach Airport Saturday night.

While we were enjoying our walks and our meals at Logan`s ,
Olive Garden ,Ruby Tuesday ,TGIF ,
California Pizza ,IHOP ,
where i made a mistake of ordering a beer, Manhattan
was freezing with tempratures as low as 16 F.

It was a fun week away from home, with no worries ,
mild climate and long walks on an empty beach.

Here it is still freezing cold.

Wednesday night at The Yard.

Monday night the weather changed.

It became what it supposed to be like this time of the year.
Winter,cold.

Cold in N.Y.C means that people
are staying indoors,watching T.V
reading books,listening to Music,keeping warm.

So i was a little pessimistic about how big of a crowd my show at
the Yard would allure.

Whenever we drive to Hoboken Margey always
takes the waterfront road at Frank Sinatra`s Park
with the breathtaking views of Manhattan.

Only a few peope were at the bar when we arrived around 9:00 pm.
engaged in a discussion about Christine Santelli,
how good of a performer she is,how many times they had seen her live,
her new CD and so on.

Obviously they were big fans of her and her music.

By the time we were ready to start playing they were about to leave,
but new people came in and we had a good crowd till about 11:30 pm
when a large & lively group of exuberant, energetic, rockin'-blues lovin'
fans burst in from the bitter cold and didn`t stop dancing till the
place was smokin' hot around 1:00 am when we had to stop playing....

I made some CD sales and we all had so much fun....

Another great night at the Yard!

Recovering.

Sometimes you only need a movie to make you feel good.

Down with Loveis a highly entertaining
movie i watched the other night and it made me feel good
after my horrible ordeal.

Renee Zellweger is adorable and so is
Ewan Mc Gregor. What a couple! Nice!

Saturday i was walking around
East Village
at Saint Marks place through
Tomkins Square Park and there i was
between ave. B and ave.C visiting a dear friend.

On my way back to the subway i couldn`t help it going by
a favorite record shop and bought three cds.

Rattlesnake Guitar: The Music Of Peter Green.

Some very interesting musicians pay tribute to the Master of Feel and Tone
and the results are definetely worth cheking out.

Blood Sweat & Tears Greatest hits was another discovery
that brought back so many memories form my youth and
"Say you will" the 2003 release from Fleetwood Mac
is a follow up to their musical tradidion.

I did the worst thing that i could do to myself.
I cut my finger with an opened can.

Horrible situation with lots of blood and me thinking of the worst.

After one week of recovering i am ready for tonight`s show
at the Yard
playing my Gibson 335.

Dining and Jamming.

It`s been a while since i played at the Waterfront Ale House
in Brooklyn.

Due to noise complaints, they stopped having Live music there anymore.

But i was happily surprised when i got a message from Dimitri
inviting me to Waterfront`s Manhattan location
where they started having live Blues every first Friday of the month.

Mr.Popa Chubby was leading the show
playing some mean guitar and singing, his wife Galea on the bass and vocals,
Dimitri playing second guitar and singing and Chris Reddan on drums.

I met lots of familiar faces from Brooklyn, and i enjoyed the show
so much that i stayed till the end, plus i was invited to play
and sing which was so much fun.

The weather has been so good , making it hard to stay indoors
so last night Kathleen and I went to Fanelli`s Cafe
at Spring St. for an authentic atmosphere and good food.

Although we never eat meat at home, (for health reasons
and protesting the unhumane treatment of Farm animals
in the States and elsewhere),check out the movie Our Daily Bread
and you will also stop eating animals so brutally mistreated from
the moment they come to this world untill their throats slit open
in the most horrific ways, i had to make an exception
and try their Bisonburger
for the first time in my life.

The food was delicious, the beers tasted great and we were
in hight spirits when we walked over to Angelika Film Center for the late screening of The Dead Girl.

A beautiful evening spent in SoHo.

Happy New Year!

Let`s try to make a difference!
Let`s all work together for better days ahead.
Let`s try to save our planet, care for our fellow human beings
and for every living creature on earth.

Patriarch Bartholomew,
the leader of the Orthodox Christian Church,
has a flock of 300 million.
Unlike most of the religious leaders,he crusades for the preservation
of the enviroment.
"To commit a crime against the natural world is a sin,"
he says.
"For humans to cause species to become extinct and
to destroy the biological diversity of God`s creation;
for humans to contaminate the earth`s waters, land, air,
and life with poisonous substances:
These are sins!

Although i am not religious i copied that form The Village Voice
latest issue`s "Free Will Astrology" by Rob Brezsny
for Virgo suggesting that
he`ll be a good role model for me in 2007,to intensify my intention
to live in harmony with nature and invoke a spiritual zeal
as i defend my planet against it`s despoilers.

I suggest we all do the same.
