The fact that my student and friend Carlo is treating me to a concert every year,
as a Christmas present, It has become the norm
for the last three years.
So last Tuesday Dec. 14th, after we had dinner at O`Lunneys,
we walked to “Best Buy Theater, right here
in my neighborhood, The square of All Times,Joe Satriani.
We were there in time, so i`ve had a couple of Jack Daniels
at the bar, while watching the opening act Ned Evett
on one of the screens.
When we realized how good they were we went inside.
The show was great.
I discovered Joe in middle 80`s, while living in Stockholm,
when his second album “Surfing with the Allien” came out.
I`ve seen him live in Athens in 2001
in the middle of the summer, outdoors, and it had been a wonderful experience,
as it was last Tuesday night.
He still plays with the passion,brilliance and fury that has characterized his playing form day one.
Rock on Joe, Rock on!
